Jessica Simpson’s dietary choices are once again making news.
On Sunday, June 27, Simpson, 29, tweeted that she “shocked my system with a vegan diet, special Pu-erh tea from China, and cupping since Friday! Who am I right now? This might be too clean!”
If you’re like me, you only understand every other word in the pop singer’s tweet. Let me shed some light on it for you.
First, let’s cover what a vegan diet is. A vegan doesn’t use or consume animal products, including dairy, eggs, fur, wool, down, leather, and cosmetics tested on animals.
Now, what’s this Chinese Pu-erh tea? It’s sold worldwide as a weight loss beverage, but it also has immense antioxidant properties comparable to green tea. Additionally, it is thought to reduce cholesterol. But the weight loss aspect isn’t the reason that Simpson is drinking the tea, she assures her fans: “Just so everyone is clear…this has NOTHING to do with weight! It is about understanding my body through hydration and alkalinity…”
Lastly, there’s cupping. It’s an ancient Chinese practice involving heated glass suction cups applied to the skin. The aim is for the cups to “suck out” the toxins in the body. Simpson tweeted, “Has anyone ever tried cupping? When u know you are doing something good for ur [sic] body the meditation creates intense visions. Love it!”
It’s unclear as to who are what inspired Simpson to undertake this new lifestyle, but some are playing with the idea that it may be the result of her VHI show Price of Beauty, during which the singer explored the extremes that women across the globe experience all for the sake of being beautiful.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t think I could alter my lifestyle as Jessica has done. What do you think?

I like Jessica Simpson. She looks hot wearing sexy dresses. I'm all for curvy. I wish I have her figure too.
